Wining in the Warehouse District
Boulevard American Bistro has officially opened in the Arts District in New Orleans replacing the old Auction House. For those of you that are unaware, Boulevard is part of the Creole Concepts group of restaurants which has quietly become one of the largest restaurant groups in the city with such names as Kingfish, Broussard’s, Tommy’s, Cafe Maspero and of course because it is New Orleans-- Big Easy Daiquiris.
We were lucky enough to get invited to opening night for the new location. Cocktails were plentiful and free, which we certainly did not object to. Passed food was also some of the best creations from their menu including marinated stake, salmon crackers, teriyaki chicken and oysters. If you have not been to one of their restaurants in the city, the Boulevard's menu is a collection of local cuisine from burgers to salads to fish and steak of the day.
The warehouse district location features a special bar off the main dining areas which will be used for private parties and stay open for late night as the main restaurant closes. All the same food and special cocktails are available in the smaller bar so you have two options on space. Thirteen art galleries are also in walking distance from Boulevard so once you have some great food and wonderful libations, you should walk down Julia Street and check out creations in the galleries.
